Spears Enterprises/Spears Racing's David Raff Takes Overall Championship, Three Class Titles at Streets of Willow

Spears Enterprises/Spears Racing's David Raff had a nearly perfect season in the inaugural Willow Springs Motorcycle Club Streets of Willow motorcycle road racing series, winning 11 of the 12 races he entered, taking three class titles and the overall championship.

"It's all about effort, it's all about team, and it's absolutely amazing. David is in his second year as an expert, and he's doing amazing things," says Gregg Spears, team manager and founder of Spears Enterprises/Spears Racing.

Riding his Spears-backed, Pirelli-shod, Superbike-spec 2001 Suzuki SV650, Raff won all eight 550 Superbike and Formula Twins Lightweight races at the 1.8-mile track. Raff also won three of the four races in Battle of the Twins Middleweight. A mechanical problem in the last round dropped Raff to eighth in that race. That left Raff tied for the class title on points, but his three wins broke the points tie in his favor.

In the battle for the overall championship, Raff, 27, scored 135 points, 15 clear of second place Rickey Herd. Former WSMC overall champion Kenny Kopecky finished third overall with 103 points.

Spears Enterprises/Spears Racing is located in Campbell, California and specializes in high-performance sports twins, with a focus on the Suzuki SV650. For more information, contact Spears at 408.879.0724 or online at www.spearsenterprises.com
